Thread sewing binding is one of the oldest bookbinding methods. The pages are secured together using a thread. This technique is ideal for books that ensure heavy usage, namely special editions, photographic publications, fine art books, manuals, limited editions, illustrated and art books, textbooks, and much more. During the thread sewing binding process, papers are printed and collated, folded, and sewn. This is followed by endpaper attachment, cover creation, attaching covers to endpapers, folding books, and finally adding some decorative elements to the book.
